What is the Calendar Competition?

The CWGF Calendar Competition is a chance for all shutterbugs and photographers to get their images in our popular calendar.

Up to 13 lucky winners will be chosen whose images will make up the cover and contents of the CWGF calendar.

This year’s theme is “Legacies”.

The courage and sacrifice of the Commonwealth’s war dead can never be forgotten but their legacy goes beyond the battlefield: It lives on in our staff caring for CWGC sites at home and abroad; how we interact with our memorials and sites; how we tell the stories of who they commemorate

So, if you can snap pictures of our staff at work in our cemeteries, a volunteer meet-up you’ve been to, memento photos you took on a talk or your, or maybe some of your younger relatives engaging with our sites, we’d love to see them!

Once you’re happy with your snap, upload the image to our website.

The maximum file size is 25MB, although, because the final image will be used in a printed calendar, it must be of the appropriate resolution. 300dpi is the publishing industry standard for printed images.

Please note images where people are easily identifiable will be rejected.

Each winner will be given a free copy of the 2025 calendar.

The competition is open between 1-31 August 2024! Up to 13 Winners will be selected by our team and announced in September.

All entries will be displayed on our website, so you can see your competition and appreciate your fellow photographers’ work.

We can’t wait to see all your photos! Thank you for supporting us here at the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation.
