Why should you become a Commonwealth War Graves Foundation member?
Considering becoming a Commonwealth War Graves Foundation member? Here’s why you should.
Commonwealth War Graves Membership
What does CWGF membership give you?
Becoming a member helps us but it also brings you some brilliant benefits too!
You get to support the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation
Charities like us rely on the generosity of people like you.
Your membership contributions mean we can continue to spread the word about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC).
It also means we can continue our core message: sharing the stories of the Commonwealth’s war dead.
Their incredible sacrifices during the World Wars paved the way for the future and freedoms we enjoy today.
We feel their stories are worth shouting about – as well as the work the CWGC does to commemorate them.
So, how do we share all this incredible information? Through our various projects, we engage with the public to help spread the word of our work, including:
- Eyes On, Hands On – A volunteer-led project to monitor and maintain war graves up and down the UK.
- Volunteer speakers – Our enthusiastic community of volunteer speakers visit schools, universities, and organisations of all sizes to talk about Commonwealth War Graves, our work, and casualty stories
- Guides – An exciting opportunity for young history enthusiasts to act as guides at Commonwealth War Graves sites in France and Belgium while learning real-life skills and sharing their knowledge
- Stories portal – A digital space where people can share the stories of their family members and their World War experiences – more information coming soon!
With your support as a Commonwealth War Graves member, we can do all the above and much, much more. Please consider joining today.

Commemoration and remembrance are at the heart of what we do at the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation.
Our members feel the same way. As history lovers, they’re part of a growing community dedicated to protecting and sharing our common history.
Would you like to join their ranks? There are plenty of ways for you to meet and interact with your fellow members, including Members Day held at the CWGC head office in Maidenhead, England every year.
Why not volunteer too? Our projects like Eyes On, Hands On have bought thousands of people together in the cause of commemoration and helped forge new friendships up and down the country.
