About the challenge
The National Museum of the Royal Navy, the National Army Museum, the Royal Air Force Museum and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission are joining forces for this virtual challenge that kicks-off on Monday 20 June, Armed Forces Week.
Choose your distance – 10km, 25km or 50km - and join hundreds of others across the country running, walking, cycling or even swimming their way to the virtual finish line. How you complete the distance is up to you!
This Challenge is virtual which means you can participate and complete it from anywhere in the world. You can start marching on Monday 20 June, Armed Forces Week, and have until Sunday 3 July to complete.

Where does the challenge take place?

When does it take place?
You can start the challenge on Monday 20th June and complete it by Sunday 3rd July. Exercise logs need to be submitted no later than Friday 23 July at the very latest, but please note late submission will result in medal delays.
What forms of exercise are allowed?
As well as walking or running, there are other ways you can choose to do the challenge. Swimming, rowing (real or on a machine), and running machines all count!
What distance is the challenge?
It’s up to you – choose from 10km, 25 km or 50 km to suit your fitness level.
How much does it cost to take part?
Entry to the Virtual Challenge is £20.00 per person and all proceeds will go towards the RAF Museum, National Museum of the Royal Navy, National Army Museum and the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation, all of which are registered charities.
Is there a discount?
We are offering discounted entry of £15.00 for our Armed Forces Family (including Veterans, cadets, serving personnel and their families).
If you enter with 5 or more friends or family members, then you will be eligible for a 10% discount on tickets. If you are a group of 10 or more then a 15% discount will apply. Tickets must be purchased at once, and they will be emailed to one address.
What will the money raised be used for?
The money from your entry will go towards the three museums, and the CWGC Foundation, which are all registered charities. All four charities preserve the history of the Armed Forces and inspire with stories of sacrifice and courage. Your support will help us continue to tell the stories of those who served and are still serving in the Armed Forces.
Your entry is an amazing message of support for us, and enables us to continue sharing the stories of our Armed Forces. But if you would like to support the Museums and Commonwealth War Graves Commission with an additional donation you will be able to do so when you purchase your ticket. There is an option to add a donation amount of £5.00, £10.00 or £20.00 as part of the entry process.
All income from tickets and donations will be split equally between the four organisations.
I’ve signed up, what happens next?
You will receive further details and a link to the portal a few days before the event.
You will need to submit your distance log by Friday 23 July at the very latest, but please note late submission will result in medal delays.
What happens after the event?
Every person who enters will be sent a one-of-a-kind medal to commemorate your achievement, which will be posted out to you after the event has ended.
You can also purchase a souvenir t-shirt to be delivered with your medal following the end of the Virtual Walk.
T-shirts are £15.00 per person and sizes range from XSmall to XXX Large.
