New funder for speakers and tour guide programme

From April 2022, we will be generously supported by the MacRobert Trust, which will provide funding for our new ‘Speakers and Tour Guides Programme’.

This programme will build and develop the already successful volunteer speaker programme alongside a UK tours programme raising awareness of our sites and commemorations in the UK.  Talks are offered throughout the year and our tour guide programme will start up again in War Graves Week (21-28 May).

The MacRobert Trust was set up by Lady MacRobert after the loss of all three of her sons. All served in the RAF, one being killed in an accident prior to the Second World War and two, who died on operational service in 1941. You can find out more about the MacRobert Trust family by visiting their website

Watch this video here to see one of our Public Engagement Coordinators share the story of the MacRobert brothers during War Graves Week 2021.

We are delighted to be supported by the MacRobert Trust, who have said of their support:

‘’The MacRobert Trust's history is firmly embedded in the values, selflessness and devotion to duty of those whose memories the CWGF support.  We are both honoured and delighted to support this initiative, which aims to spread the word about the importance of those values and the invaluable work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.’’
