Recruitment is open for our fantastic Guides Programme

Are you a history lover looking to grow your knowledge of the World Wars while learning real-life skills? Apply for the Guides Programme today!

The Guides Programme

The Guides Programme gives young people the opportunity to get out in the field and work alongside the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

We select several recruits from across the UK and France and Belgium to become Guides at some of the CWGC’s most iconic sites.

Based at either the Thiepval Memorial in France or Tyne Cot Cemetery in Belgium, as well as in the CWGC Experience and our Ieper Information Centre, our Guides are the public face of the Commission.

Guides engage visitors, introduce them to the work of the Commission, and lead guided tours around cemeteries and memorials.

While abroad, Guides blog, write and make videos relating to their time in France and Belgium. The Guides also share the stories of the fallen and help keep the memories of the Commonwealth’s war dead alive.

As part of the Guide experience, we also offer a social programme of visits and experiences to help our Guides in their role and enrich their personal development.
