WALKING OUR WAR GRAVES: THE WESTERN FRONT RETURNS

The CWGF’s virtual fundraiser, Walking Our War Graves: The Western FrontWalking Our War Graves: The Western Front, is back in time for summer. Registrations open on the 19th June.

Our virtual fundraiser lets you travel 125km along the Western Front from anywhere in the world. From the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme to the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, participants will encounter many CWGC cemeteries and memorials along the way.

At each stop you will be able to discover more about the history of the site, how the work of the CWGC continues and read some poignant stories of sacrifice of the Commonwealth casualties commemorated there.

This route is open from the 19th June until February 2024, so you can set your own challenge of how fast you would like to complete the distance, or just take it at a more leisurely pace – the decision is up to you!

You can also set your own fundraising target, to help us keep the stories alive of those men and women who died during the two World Wars. Any money raised will help support the CWGF’s outreach programmes such as our Eyes On, Hands On volunteers to our Guides working in France and Belgium.

This is a perfect fundraiser to get involved with from wherever you are in the world that you can share with your family and friends too.

Registration costs £25. We hope that you enjoy taking part.

Together we can keep their stories alive.
