Supporting the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation through trusts & foundations
We are extremely grateful to the charitable trusts and foundations which make such a vital contribution towards our education, training and heritage programmes each year.
We receive a wide range of support - unrestricted grants give us the flexibility to channel funds to where the need is greatest, while restricted donations are targeted to specific programmes.
We enjoy developing meaningful relationships with trusts and foundations, keeping trustees informed about the difference their funding has made and inviting them to see our work, first-hand and meet beneficiaries.
Recently, generous grants from trusts and foundations have supported the following projects:
- Guides Programme – Providing twelve young people with a ‘once in a lifetime experience, working alongside CWGC staff at our iconic sites of remembrance in France and Belgium
- Speakers and Tour Guides’ Programme - Enabling us to deliver 300 free tours and 600 talks a year, to a range of audiences, across the UK
- Volunteer programme – Recruiting and training volunteers, who support our work in many different ways
- The Stories Portal – Currently in development, our innovative new digital resource will be a space where people can share stories, memories and photos of the casualties on our database – watch this space!
Each year we apply to a wide range of trusts and foundations for grants so we can continue to deliver our core programmes and develop exciting opportunities to engage with hundreds of people and involve them in our work.
We are always keen to develop new relationships with potential funders. Please contact us on supporters@cwgc.org to find out how your trust and foundation can help ‘keep their stories alive’.
