Our Story
Welcome to the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation. Since 2017, we've been keeping the memories of the commonwealth's war dead alive to preserve their incredible legacies for future generations.
Our mission is simple but important:
- To engage and inform the public on the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission
- To keep the memories and stories of the Commonwealth’s dead of the World Wars alive to preserve them for future generations
Commonwealth War Graves commemorates more than 1.7 million men and women around the world. Each has their own story to tell and their own war grave or memorial inscription to care for.
We are here to support the Commission in its important work and ensure the public knows more about the CWGC and the men and women in its care.
Engaging and inspiring people across the UK with the moving stories of those who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars is at the heart of everything we do.
Through the incredible generosity of our members, donors, and supporters, we are able to reach communities across the UK to tell their stories.
